10 reasons to climb Palomar in rain (or snow)

As a new blizzard wallops NYC today, shutting down schools and reviving the over-used term Snowpocalypse, I offer my 10 reasons to locals in SoCal to climb Palomar Mountain in the rain, or snow (if temperatures fall to freezing fast enough) tomorrow.

  1. Bike’s already dirty
  2. Bike needs to get dirty
  3. Rollers and trainers are no fun the last weekend before March
  4. You don’t own rollers or a trainer
  5. Chance to wear shoe covers
  6. “Embro”
  7. Full-fingered gloves
  8. Vittoria Paves
  9. Gavia Pass 1988
  10. Because it’s there
