Colnago

Colnago – ‘Nuf said

About as Italian as you can get. Namesake of Ernesto Colnago, whose claim to fame includes producing the super-light steel frame used by Eddy Merckx in 1972 to the break the then world 1-hour record. Colnago counts several other firsts, including perhaps the first toupe (yes?) worn by a bicycle company founder and CEO. On the product side, there were the crimped-tube models based on the “Master” and “Master-Light” models. There was also the straight-blade fork design know as “Precisa.” And Colnago also teamed up with Ferrari (of car fame, not controversial cycling training) to develop new carbon-fiber technologies. Here’s a handy site for Colnago fans.

It’s all about history in this video, which includes a camero by the Pope and riders without helmets. A gem (even with the safety concerns).
