Giant may not be the sexiest bikemaker. But it says it’s the biggest. No wonder it’s called “Giant.” Plus “Little” somehow just doesn’t inspire. This year, pro racing team Rabobank is aboard Giants. Denis Menchov rode like one in taking the Maglia Rosa after a heart-attack-inducing finish in the final TT in Rome. He fell on a Giant but got on another Giant and pedaled to the overall win. According to industry reports, Giant cranked out 4.7 million bikes in 2002. The company went over the 5 million mark in 2007. Giant’s technology contribution to the bike industry is the TCR Advanced SL carbon-fiber frame design that integrates seatpost and frame as one.
