Pinarello
In the pantheon of cycling frames, Pinarellos are right there with Colnagos. They turn heads and win races. Ale-Jet during Fasso Bartolo? Pinny. Alejandro Valverde? Ditto. The company’s founder, Giovanni Pinarello, was the eighth of 12 brothers and born in Catena di Villorba, Italy, in 1922. The struggles of a simple agrarian life, as well as surviving the hardships of both World Wars, had a profound influence on Pinarello and his passion for “Two Wheels.” That history provides great texture to the brand, one that has a Pinarello owners group on Facebook. It’s hard not to drool at one of these bikes, especially the Prince flavor when outfitted with Campagnolo Bora wheels.
