Cyclocross fascinates me. I work with a very cool Cat. 1/2 racer who has begun to teach me the way of more cowbell. I don’t fully understand why anyone would want to dismount a perfectly good bicycle and jump over barriers or run up the side of a hill, but I respect the hell out the discipline. With the Belgian Cyclocross Championships this coming weekend, it only seems fitting to tip our hats (and cycling caps) to some of the men and women who devote themselves to this great part of cycling. Here’s a nifty image of Jacques Anquetil, doing the ‘cross thing. The 5-time Tour de France winner has a smile on his face that says he’s having fun — or he’s way ahead of everybody else.
