Penny per mile
What’s Penny per mile?
A start.

It’s simple. Penny per mile is a new way to consider giving back to those who need a hand. Consider the math: If I log 200 miles for the week, that’s only $2 — less than a latte at your local coffee shop.
But if 100 people take the Penny per mile oath, that would be $200. Suddenly a penny doesn’t sound that puny. It adds up.
Now, if I get 200 miles per week logged for the rest of 2010, that’s something like 7,000 miles. Just for grins and giggles, 7,000 miles equals $70. Hey, that’s less than what you’ll pay for a new Continental 4000S. It’s a quarter of new pair of ultra light pedals. And something like 100th of the cost of a sweet carbon-fiber race bike.
My point: A Penny per mile is an idea worth considering, on the honor system for starters, in the privacy of our own lives.
I hope you give Penny per mile some thought.

Great concept, Jeff! I’m in! I rode 41 miles over the weekend. I’ll contribute 41-cents to http://www.team-will.org.
Good luck with the site! I’m craving it already!

Take it a step further and contribute a penny for every mile that you drive in your car and offset it by pedaling!
Good call! I’m down to an average of 5 miles a day in car. Offsetting as much as possible with bike. Thanks for coming by and making a good suggestion! Hope everyone takes note of it.
hi jeff great talking with you last night Chris and I would like to donate to your next fund raising event.
How could I do that?
Love,

Great idea – can I steal it?
You bet. If everyone ponied up a penny to their favorite cause for every mile they ride, things are always better. Thanks for coming by! Go ATX.
