Two videos, one passion

by jeffbean on April 30, 2010

This week has been such a crusher on the time front, that I’ve resorted to admiring videos and gleaning instant inspiration from them. I have no insights or stories to write to write today on BC. But that won’t last long. I trust. Tomorrow’s my second double century of the year (US, not metric) with about 16,000 feet of climb, straight out of the desert, to the ocean, and over a few rollers along the way. Before that endeavor, though, I need to summon some mojo to fire up. You know, the unspoken kind that makes you hyper aware of your senses and all that is around you. A slow and sustained glow that accompanies you — and your friends, those both new and old. These two videos, at complete ends of the cycling spectrum, do it well, IMHO. First, we have the buttoned-up, Lycra-clad roadies on a race to the top of a mountain. Suffering. Climbing. One ascending alone to celebrate the win. Next, we shift gears for full-out risk-loving, stunt-jumping young cats with no fear. They flip, spin and happily mock the law of gravity. In both, camaraderie, sharing, and stories being written for posterity.  Two videos. One passion. Bikes. Happy Friday.

Loving the Bike April 30, 2010 at 20:47

Like you, I love all bikes no matter what variety they are. Those BMX’ers rock it, man. So talented. I love the cool camera views they use in that video. Thanks for sharing them.
