Vermarc, the Belgian company, makes some of the pro gear for Quick Step and Team Silence Lotto, and has also created a special line for Moots. Vermarc rates high on my list for these reasons:
- Chamois does not feel like a “diaper”
- Lycra is thin yet not “sheer” as in “see-through”
- Bibs uppers with their mesh stirrups and little “radio pocket” on the back are non-nonsense, don’t stretch out over time and don’t bunch up
- Leg bands stay in place. Not too tight. Not too loose.
Perfect for summer months and comfortable worn over a base layer or a bare chest and back. I haven’t used the “radio pocket” for anything yet, but will likely tuck the iPod Shuffle in there this summer, or the iPhone set to Pandora on 3G network in the city.
Here are some pics for you. To read about the beauty of wool bibs (yes, there is such a thing) click here.
